- Olivine I. (Bussiere) Vaillancourt, 90, of Westport, MA passed away Saturday, December 3 in Fall River. She was the daughter of the late Alpheda (Fortin) Bussiere and Francis Bussiere, and wife of the late E. Paul Vaillancourt.
Born in Dartmouth, Olivine worked in the textile mills of Fall River before becoming the bookkeeper for E. Paul Vaillancourt Plumbing and Heating, a job she held for several decades. A devoted wife and mother, Olivine was an accomplished seamstress and was a former member of the Royal Travelers Club.
A communicant and active member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, she taught CCD and was a Marian Medal recipient.
Olivine was the mother of Kenneth D. Vaillancourt and Rochelle E. Vaillancourt of Westport, Thomas R. Vaillancourt and his wife, Jody, of Merrimack, NH. She is survived by her sisters, Ella Botelho and Lucille Simas of Westport, Jacqueline Croteau and Jeanne Croteau of Dartmouth, her grandchildren Laura, April, Colleen and Schuyler Vaillancourt, Jacqueline Chase and Mary Sullivan, as well as many brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Paul G. Vaillancourt, her brothers, Armand and Gerard Bussiere and her sister, Geraldine Bussiere.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd, Westport at 10:00 A.M. Calling hours Monday 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
