[1] - Albert F. Asher, 68, died at his home, 38 Grosvenor street, yesterday after a long illness. He was born in Shazy (sic) N.Y., but had lived her for the past 60 years. He was engaged in the candy-making business at the North end for the past 16 years and gained wide recognition as a confectioner.
Mr. Asher leaves his widow, Mrs. Luciana Asher, and three sons, Frank A., Merrill F. and Arnold A., all of Springfield; a daughter Mrs. E. J. Klicka of West Springfield; two brothers, William J. of Colorado Springs, Col., and Napoleon J. Asher of Taunton, and a sister, Mrs Josephine A. Carlton of this city. Mr. Asher was a member of the St. Thomas' church and the St. Jean the Baptist society.
The funeral will be held at Byron's undertaking parlors Saturday morning at 8.15. A high mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas' church at 9 and burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
